Competitions to Enter


Our winners in our 'Suggest a Series' competition are:
  • Ella (10 years) of Romsey, and
  • Thomas and Harry (both aged 11) of Bendigo.

Ella recommended the "My Sister The Vampire" series to us, commenting "they're great so I've read them heaps of times"! She has won herself the Our Australian Girl - Poppy series by Gabrielle Wang.

Thomas and Harry recommended one of their favourites, "Megs", by Neil Montagnana Wallace with Mark Schwarzer. This series will be one of those we highlight this month during our sports-themed series focus. They have won The Underland Chronicles series by Suzanne Collins.

Thank you to everyone who sent us suggestions! We will be adding all recommended series to our website in the next few weeks. While the competition may be over - at least for now - we're always keen to hear which series you enjoy most, so you can email your suggestions to us at any time!

My Favourite Series - Video Review

To enter the My Favourite Series competition, create a short video about why you like your favourite series. What better way to share the books you enjoy most, than to encourage others to read them? Over the next few months, we'll award a prize to one reviewer each month, and all reviewers will have the opportunity to have their videos included on the site. Please carefully read the competition instructions below.




Competition Details - My Favourite Series Video Review

We'd love to hear why you like a particular series - and so would many other readers your own age! Over the next few months, Cereal Readers is looking for your video review on a series, or series book. Put on your best sales pitch for your favourite series - and encourage others to give it a try.

  1. Duration: 1-2 minutes.
  2. Reviews may be on a series that is not yet on our website.
  3. Entrants must be 5-18 years.
  4. Make sure you tell us:
    • The title of the series.
    • Your first name and how old you are.
    • Why you liked the story, the characters, or the way the book or series was written.
  5. Important Tips:
    • During your video, please do not say your last name, your school, or where you live.
    • Make sure you do not wear your school uniform or identifying sports uniform.
    • Be careful not to give too much of the story away - and make sure you don't tell us the ending!!
